A brand new and unique festival exploring new ideas for a sustainable relationship with our planet.
Womad EARTH STATION is the brainchild of the producers of the hugely successful annual WOMADelaide festival and the first major festival in Adelaide to offer camping facilities.
PLANET TALKS
Developed in collaboration with the Environment Institute and the Wentworth Group of Concerned Scientists, the Planet Talks program features panels of leading scientists, academics, writers and thinkers, including Roy Neel (Chief of Staff to Al Gore, former US Vice President), actor Cate Blanchett and comedian Rod Quantock. Nineteen sessions spanning topics covering the science of climate change, solutions for the planet and the agenda for change.
GLOBAL MUSIC
Held in the gorgeous surrounds of Belair National Park, South Australia's oldest national park (just 20mins drive from the CBD), the music program features 19 extraordinary groups from across Australia and the world - from the Kronos Quartet, Rickie Lee Jones and Abdullah Ibrahim to Mista Savona and The Audreys.
Belair National Park will be abuzz with music, roving performers, installations, nature walks, workshops, great food and wine and THE MARKET will feature practical information about sustainability, demonstrations, workshops and discussions as well as environmentally-friendly products and services.
