Set to live music courtesy of Cuba's well-known son band Turquino, Havana Rakatan is a captivating journey through the dance and music of a truly unique country. Taking the audience on a rhythmic voyage through Cuban history, from the flamenco brought by colonial invasion to songs, stories, dances and stories of Congolese and Yoruba slaves, Havana Rakatan weaves traditional jazz, mambo, bolero, son and salsa with modern hip hop and reggaeton in a colourful and joyful explosion of the old and the new.
